Principal's Weekly Message

September 15, 2017

Dear PS 64 Families:

Thank you all for attending our annual “Back to School Night.”  We are very excited to begin the 2017 – 2018 school year and look forward to working with you.  Please note the following updates.

· Early Drop Off:   Students are not permitted in the building until 7:45 a.m. This is when the cafeteria begins serving breakfast.  We cannot allow children to enter the building before that time.  There is no one to watch them.

· Class Size:  We plan on opening a 4/5 bridge class, as both our 4th and 5th grade classes are very large.  Thank you for your patience as we work on this.

· Family Workshop: District 1 Diversity Plan:  Please mark your calendars for Wednesday, September 27, at 9:00 a.m. for a very special coffee hour with the principal to discuss District 1’s diversity initiative for student enrollment.  Kimberly Daniels will serve as our Chief Diversity Officer.

· School Uniforms:  A representative from the uniform company will be here on Tuesday, September 26, at 10:00 a.m. to take measurements and orders.  We will purchase uniforms for families in need.  Please see our parent coordinator for details.   · School Website:  Be sure to check out our school website at www.ps64m.org for daily notices.

You are reminded that there is no school next Thursday and Friday, September 21 and 22, in observance of Rosh Hashanah.

Have a great weekend.

Sincerely,

Marlon L. Hosang

Principal
